Combo Meals are food and beverage packages that you offer to your customers. They can contain a variety of selections, such as food & drinks, and include any number of products for your customers to choose from to make up a combo meal.

When setting up a Combo Meal, the price you allocate to the Combo Meal will override the price of any individually selected item included in that category. For example, if you wish to offer a mid-week lunch deal that includes a main and a soft drink for $20, any main and soft drink added to the selection will together be priced at $20, regardless of the product's individual price tag.

Tip!

It's a good idea to set up Combo Meals as the last step of your menu management, after you have created all menu categories and completed your product list.

Setting up a Combo Meal

Meals are created in the Product List tab of your Manage Menu section. In here you will have the option to create a combo on the top right of your screen.

First, you need to decide which Category you would like to add your Combo Meal option to. For example, if you have a Lunch Category and would like to offer a lunch Combo Meal option, you would add this Combo Meal to the Lunch category. From here, you just fill out the details and allocate a price to the combo meal.

Combo products

Once you've given your Combo Meal a name and a price tag, you will need to think about which products you would like to make available as part of the Combo. You can allocate as many products as you would like to your Combo, but they will need to have been set up in your Product List first and marked as "In Stock".

You have a choice of adding a fixed number of products that will all form part of a Combo Meal and can't be edited by the customer or create a selection and allow say one product from each selection.

Fixed Combo products

Simply hit the Assign Product button under the 'Combo products' section of the setup and allocate any products you wish to add. These will all form part of the combo meal, at the price you have allocated to the Combo, and are not editable.

Create a selection

If you would like to offer say one main and one side dish as part of your Combo, you would create 2 selections, one for the main and another one for the sides you would like to include.

To do this, hit the Create Selection button, name the selection (eg "Sides"), select the number of items that your customers will be able to choose from this selection and then simply allocate the products you wish to add. Always remember to hit the Save button!

Recommendations

Just like with any other products on your menu, you can add recommendations to a Combo Meal. Just note that these will not form part of the Combo and will be priced at their individual value if added to a Combo Meal.

Complete your setup

Once you have finished the setup, be sure to hit the Save button! This will move your Combo Meal into the Categories tab and you will find it by clicking on the category you have added it to.

Handy Hints!

Modifications that are priced extra will override the price of your Combo Meal and be added to the total. For example, if you have added the product "Coffee" to your Combo Meal and Coffee is set up with $0.50 extra for Soy Milk, then this modification will be added to the price of the Combo meal if the customer adds a coffee with soy milk to their combo meal. So if your Combo Meal was originally priced at $20, it will cost this customer $20.50.

If you would like to include modifications that are usually priced extra as part of your combo free of charge, then the best way to do this is to copy the product in your product list and then simply remove the price that is allocated with its modifications. Just make sure you do not add this product to any category as that will otherwise make it available on your regular menu also. Once you have finished copying the product, navigate back to the Combo Meal and hit the edit button to then assign the new, copied product to the Combo or to the selection.
