How you utilise MondoMenu for order management will really depend on your individual processes and set up. We've outlined below the most common way our platform is currently being used. If this doesn't work in your venue, and you need more advice on how to use MondoMenu in a way that works best for you, just hit us up at support@mondoconnex.com

Using MondoMenu on a stand alone tablet/s, with or without a printer

Some venues we work with don't have a POS and use Mondo Menu as both a digital menu and order management system. This means they use stand-alone tablet/s and printers to manage their end to end order process. Usually this means that orders are viewed on a tablet and also printed through to the kitchen and bar separately. Printers are not mandatory though - you can choose to have multiple tablets in your venue and "tap" each item through its status as it progresses.

If you choose to use Mondo Menu in this way, your workflow will look similar to this:

With printer:

Customer makes order on their phone > Order is received on tablet & sent to printer > Kitchen makes meal, crosses off docket & notifies FoH when ready > FoH picks meal up from pass & updates tablet > Order is closed & SMS sent automatically (if enabled)

Without printer:

Customer makes order on their phone > Order is received on tablet > Kitchen makes meal & notifies FoH when ready > FoH picks meal up from pass & updates tablet > Order is closed & SMS sent automatically (if enabled)

Using MondoMenu in conjunction with a POS but without integration

Many of our Mondo Menu customers use the platform alongside their POS. This might sound like "double handling", but actually it's not. It's highly likely that currently, your customers provide their order to your staff - either at the counter or via your serving staff. This option is really the same thing, except that your tablet is how the customer is providing their order. Your staff are then taking an order from the tablet and entering that order directly into your POS. This means your POS can do all of the things you're likely paying for now - like stock and inventory management - but you still get the benefits of having a fully digital menu.

If you choose to use MondoMenu in this way, your workflow will look similar to this:

Customer makes order on their phone > Order is received on tablet > FoH enters order into POS > POS pushes order to kitchen/printer > Kitchen makes meal, crosses off docket & notifies FoH when ready > FoH picks meal up from pass & updates tablet > Order is closed & SMS sent automatically (if enabled)

Using MondoMenu with a POS integration

We're not going to lie to you, POS integrations can be complex and costly. We usually partner with third party providers for POS integrations. If you think it's critical to integrate with your POS and you want to find out what we can and can't do, please contact us here support@mondoconnex.com.
