This discount type allows you to run a promotion where the customer must purchase specific product/s to get something else for free or at a discounted price. For example, you could offer a buy two pizzas, get one free deal. You could also offer 10% off drinks when you purchase a main meal.
Follow the steps below to create a Buy X, get Y discount:
1. Discount type
Select Buy X, get Y in the Discount type section.
2. If customer purchases...
In the If customer purchases... section, you need to specify which products the customer must purchase to be eligible for the discount. Customers must purchase ALL products added to this section. In the example below, the customer must purchase the Cheese & bacon burger AND the Chips to qualify.
Next to each product you will see a Quantity field. This refers to the number of units that must be purchased. In the example below, the customer must purchase TWO Cheese & bacon burgers and ONE Chips.
Selections
When you create a selection, the customer can choose between a list of products. The customer can purchase ANY product from the list to receive the discount. In the example below, the customer must purchase the Cheese & bacon burger OR the Grilled chicken burger.
You will also need to set a Quantity for selections. This total can be made up of multiples of the same product or different products. In the example below, the customer can purchase two different burgers from the list, or they can purchase two of the same burger.
3. Customer will get...
3. In the Customer will get... section, add the product/s that the customer will get if they purchase the required product/s from the If customer purchases... section.
You can make these product/s Free, Offer the product/s with a Percentage off discount, or set a Price change.
In the example below, the customer will get 1 drink from the "Choice of drink" selection for free.
Note: These products will NOT be automatically added to the customers cart after they apply the discount. The customer will need to manually add the free/discounted products to their cart. |
4. Set the Discount rules.
- Minimum spend - The minimum amount customers must spend to be eligible for the discount.
- Limit use to once per day - If enabled, each customer will only be able to use the discount code once per day.
- Redemption limit - Cap the amount of customers who can redeem the discount. You can set a Total cap (the total number of redemptions accepted for the duration of the discount), or a Daily cap (the total number of redemptions accepted per day).
Setting a timeframe
The timeframe is the period when your discount code remains valid. Once the timeframe has passed, the discount code will expire. You can choose to set an indefinite timeframe (meaning your discount code will not expire unless you delete it from your portal), or you can set a date range.
Advanced settings
If you would like your discount code to be valid on certain day/s of the week, or at certain times of the day, you can do this in the Advanced settings. For example, you might like to offer a happy hour promotion between 4pm-6pm on Wednesday nights, or a 2 for 1 pizza night every Tuesday.
Once you complete these settings, hit the CREATE button to save your discount.
