This guide explains how to highlight best-selling items on your menu by adding the Popular tag.
The Popular tag shows a small badge on selected items, helping customers quickly find your most-loved dishes and drinks.

Why use the Popular tag?

The Popular tag leverages social proof, guiding customers toward the items most frequently chosen by other diners.
It helps:

  • New customers feel confident in their choices

  • Reduce decision fatigue

  • Drive more sales of high-margin or high-demand products

Step-by-Step Instructions

1. Navigate to the Product

Go to the item you want to mark as Popular. You can do this by:

  • Opening the product via its category, or

  • Going directly to the product in the Product List.

2. Edit the Product

Click the pencil icon next to the product to open the edit screen.

3. Select the Popular Tag

Scroll down to the Tags list and select Popular.

4. Save

Click Save to confirm your changes. The Popular badge will now appear on your menu next to the item.

Important Notes

  • For venues using a connected POS, please contact your MondoConneX support representative. We can configure this so Popular items are set up automatically from your POS system.

  • You can remove or update tags at any time by repeating the steps above.
