This guide explains how to set up the new Upgrade feature in your MondoMenu menu.
Upgrades enable you to encourage customers to add value to their order with just one tap, driving higher sales and enhancing the customer experience.
Why use Upgrades?
Upgrades are proven in QSRs - and our data shows they work just as well in cafés, bars and bistros. By showing only the incremental price increase (e.g. “+ $6”), rather than the full combo price, customers are far more likely to say yes.
Examples of effective upgrades:
Food combos: Upgrade a sandwich to include a drink and a side.
Coffee upsell: Add a slice of cake with your coffee.
Burgers: Upgrade a burger to a combo with fries and a drink.
Drinks: Move customers from bottom-shelf to top-shelf spirits — e.g. Jack Daniel’s to Gentleman Jack.
Premium swaps: Upgrade from a standard house wine to a premium glass.
Use Upgrades on high-volume products to increase average order value and promote high-margin items.

It does not need to be visible to customers until it’s assigned.
